The Irwindale Business Center is centrally located in the heart of Irwindale’s Civic Center area, across from City Hall. Before its development, the former mining quarry was a “scar” in the Civic Center area that was a major source of dust emissions and an eyesore in the core of the city.
Today, the City has a 125-acre, 2.2 million square foot industrial park that has provided companies with new and expanded facilities, and a pleasing view from the city’s main business corridors and the surrounding residential and business communities.
The Center has been a significant catalyst for additional development in the City of Irwindale. Prior to the development of the Center, the assessed value of the former quarry was $3 million. After the development, the assessed value is over $63 million. The sales tax generation since the Center opened is over $500,000.
The redevelopment of this former 125-acre quarry site was a benefit to the entire community. The area is now a beautiful, heavily landscaped industrial park with walking paths, park benches and meandering sidewalks.
