The West Sacramento Redevelopment Agency is committed to positive physical change in West Sacramento, focusing on infill development, blight removal, and economic revitalization. Examples of the Agency’s efforts to revitalize West Sacramento include: » The unique Ziggurat office building at Raley’s Landing (1997) » River Walk (1999) » Raley Field (2000) » Metro Place at Washington Square (2003) » River’s Side at Washington Square (2007) » CalSTRS Headquarters (2009) » Growth of the Port of West Sacramento Looking to the future, the Agency’s efforts are supporting: » Construction of the initial phase of the West Capitol Avenue Streetscape Plan (2010) » The city’s new transit and community centers (2010) » Development of a streetcar system linking West Sacramento and downtown Sacramento (2015) » Development of the 180 acre Bridge District, which will ultimately open 1 mile of premium urban waterfront with tremendous mixed use development potential.
