The Signal Hill Redevelopment Agency started an aggressive 25-acquisition program that is nearly completed as of December 31, 2010. In FY 10-11, the Agency started a smaller acquisition program to acquire properties before the expiration of its eminent domain authority on November 17, 2010. This 3.15 acre acquisition program focuses on properties needed for the expansion of the auto center or commercial use, in addition to acquiring property needed for an affordable housing development and public parking. The Agency also provides $5,000 grants for the rehabilitation of single-family owner-occupied housing units.
Signal Hill Redevelopment Agency has been a member of the California Redevelopment Association since 1990.
