Buena Park, CA Office Development - Public Buildings/Facilities Development: City of Buena Park
The Consolidated Redevelopment Project Area encompasses approximately 50% of the City, totaling 3,940 acres. The Redevelopment Agency’s priority is to upgrade the E-Zone (the area between the 91 Freeway and Knotts Berry Farm), by attracting quality development to underutilized sites, upgrading the public improvements, and acquiring older motels. The Agency has purchased the former Movieland Wax Museum property and multiple motels. The Agency is continuing to acquire significant development opportunity sites in the prime Entertainment Zone area along Beach Boulevard. With property investment, the Agency projects tourism growth from the current 6.4 million to 10.7 million per year. The Agency is seeking to attract hotels and attractions to bring additional visitors to the City. Another priority is upgrading Buena Park Downtown by attracting new tenants and working with Sears to redevelop their property. The Agency has also been acquiring properties as they become available for further expansion of the City’s Auto Center; and working with the owners of the former Nabisco site to redevelop the site into a retail center. In addition, the Agency continues to budget funds for project development and business retention and attraction within the City of Buena Park.
City of Buena Park has been a member of the California Redevelopment Association since
1991.
