Menlo Park’s primary area of activity is the improvement of the Belle Haven residential neighborhood. Current projects include: completion of capital projects funded by year 2000 bond; significant park and street rehabilitation including complete redevelopment of fields & play areas at the neighborhood school; community plaza connecting the neighborhood school, library, and child development center; completion of a park and housing project; provision of traffic management facilities; planning for the use of Below Market Rate (BMR) Housing Reserve Fund; resale of BMR housing units; provision of first time homebuyer loans and housing rehabilitation loans; funding modifications to homes for disabled persons; provision of code enforcement, drug abatement and community police substation activities; some commercial area upgrade.
