Lakeport, CA Programs - Home Ownership Assistance Program: Lake County Redevelopment Agency
The Agency was formed in 1999 and adopted the “Northshore Redevelopment Plan” in 2001. The project area encompasses the unincorporated communities of Upper Lake, Nice, Lucerne, Glenhaven and Clearlake Oaks, with a population of approximately 8,500. The plan calls for the establishment of Town Centers for each community, improved public access to Clear Lake, improved business climate, improved appearance of the Highway 20 Scenic Corridor, along with reducing the adverse impacts of the Highway on these communities, and improvements to and expansion of the housing stock. Projects include a Promenade along the lake in Lucerne, a town center and community gathering place in Clearlake Oaks, expansion of public park facilities, reconstruction of Main Street in Upper Lake, and sidewalk construction for pedestrian safety along Highway 20. Retail business attraction and new lodging facilities to serve area tourists are high priorities.
Lake County Redevelopment Agency has been a member of the California Redevelopment Association since
1999.
