Named a “least costly city for doing business” by the Kosmont Companies and Rose Institute’s Cost of Doing Business Survey, Apple Valley’s strength is economic development. With recent population growth, quality demographics and aggressive marketing, Apple Valley attracted three million-square-feet of commercial development in five years. Today, Apple Valley is attracting retailers as well as medical providers, logistics and manufacturing companies. The North Apple Valley Industrial Specific Plan, a growing logistics and manufacturing hub, shortens development schedules for businesses locating to its 5,100-acre area. Attributes include a 120-day streamlined permit process, an available workforce with employment training programs, tax incentives, an ample and low-cost housing supply, lower costs for real estate, development and operations, direct access to Apple Valley Airport, and close proximity to transportation corridors leading to consumer markets in Southern California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. New and expanding companies include a 1.3 million-square-foot Walmart distribution center, TruBlu Logistics and Reid Products. Apple Valley’s Redevelopment Agency is aggressively infusing millions of redevelopment dollars into the local economy through the development of public facilities and the extension of significant infrastructure to deliver shovel-ready sites.
