Oceanside, CA Residential Development - Live/Work or Lofts: City of Oceanside
In the City of Oceanside the flow of private development has slowed down, but the City is preparing for the Recovery with several infrastructure projects that began in 2008-09.
•RFP was awarded for Mission Avenue Improvements East – to design bump outs, add street trees, new street lights, and street furniture
•Downtown Drainage Improvement Project – a bid for construction should be issued in fall 2009
•Waterfront Improvement Project – RFP issued for 5 beach restrooms; RFP issued to re-cast the amphitheatre into a state of the art performance venue; and a construction bid issued to replace Pier bracing
•Developing plans for a new 242 space surface parking lot and extension of the Coastal Rail Trail bike path
•RFQ to be issued in winter 2009 to develop a 450 space vertical mixed-use public parking garage
COMPLETED PROJECTS
•Funded the renovation and relocation of the California Surf Museum
•Wyndham Timeshare Resorts opened and a new Cohn Group restaurant called 333 Pacific
•Oceanside Terraces mixed use project was completed and several retail shops opened including: Harney Sushi, Red Cup Yogurt, Ensemble Clothing and Maui Coffee
•The CityMark 5-block private development received entitlements for 231 condos, 124 hotel rooms, and almost 50,000 sq. ft. of commercial space
•Beach Resort Hotel a public-private partnership received entitlements and finalized the Disposition Agreement for a 289 room hotel, 47 room boutique hotel, 48 timeshare units, 18,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, a ballroom and large underground parking garage.
