Our Redevelopment Agency has primarily focused on improving infrastructure within the project area through grants and matching funds for assessment districts. We also enter into numerous OPA’s, particularly with commercial developers, to assist them with the public improvements associated with their projects. Our set-aside is satisfied by assisting mobilehome park conversion efforts, as well as assisting individual mobilehome owners who might be dislocated, assisting nonprofits with tax credit housing deals and rehabilitation of older multifamily units. San Marcos was, in essence, an after-thought city. As a result, one of our most important goals is to improve and develop the City’s infrastructure to create an integrated master planned system that is conducive to absorbing and complementing our rapid growth.

San Marcos Redevelopment Agency has been a member of the California Redevelopment Association since 1990.
