Due to booming residential development, the Agency’s primary focus is to revitalize the Agency and identify funds that can be used to rehabilitate the City’s downtown area, and attract more businesses. The downtown revitalization also includes the City's efforts to rehabilitate an existing theater to serve as an anchor for the downtown area. Other interests of the City have been to attract more single and multifamily housing development. The improvement of existing parks and construction of new parks has also been a priority for the City.

Livingston Redevelopment Agency has been a member of the California Redevelopment Association since 1990.
