Selection

This award recognizes individuals for especially meritorious service, contributions to, or achievements in the field of redevelopment in California over the course of a career.

Background

The history of redevelopment in California dates back to 1945, and in the years since, many people have demonstrated outstanding leadership and made noteworthy contributions to the field. While CRA has an awards program to recognize agencies with excellent programs and projects in redevelopment, there has been no formal program to honor individuals until now. On May 17, 2008 the Board of Directors established the Lifetime Achievement in Redevelopment Award to recognize persons for especially meritorious service and contributions to the field of redevelopment in California over the course of a career. This award will be the highest award CRA can give an individual.

Eligibility

Nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award should be based on the following criteria:

  • Individuals who have committed significant portions of their careers to the field of redevelopment and who have made significant achievements and contributions in the state of California.

  • Honorees may have made contributions to local communities and/or to the overall practice of redevelopment.

  • Honorees should be distinguished and widely viewed as holding high standards of professional conduct and ethics.
