2007 William A. Carlson Fellowship Winners


 

Ashley Atkinson

Ms. Atkinson is currently an Administrative Analyst in the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency, following completion of the city's one-year Management Assistant Program. She received a dual Master's degree in Public Administration and Planning from the University of Southern California in 2007. While pursuing her degree, she served as an intern with the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles, the City of Bell Gardens and the City of Beverly Hills. Prior to enrolling at USC, Ashley spent two years teaching English in Japan as a participant in the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. Ashley earned her undergraduate degree in journalism and public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Elinor Buchen

Ms. Buchen graduated from UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy in 2007. She is currently Policy Analyst to Oakland City Council President Jane Brunner.

Agnes Chan

Ms. Chan is a Project Planner for Design, Community & Environment, an urban planning and design consulting firm based in Berkeley.  She specializes in sustainable planning, housing, economic development, and GIS projects.  She has a Master's in Urban Planning from UCLA and a B.A. in economics from
Dartmouth College.
